Amanda is a 24-time marathoner, RRCA Level-1 Certified Run Coach, and founder of Wellness in Motion Run Coaching (formerly Amanda Runs Boston Coaching). As a coach and athlete, her motto has always been “Dream Big!” as this saying helped her achieve a BQ (2010) all the way to a OTQ (2:40) and 2x Olympic Trials races.
The sport of running has transformed her both personally and professionally. Once a clinical social worker, she slowly transitioned away from the hospital setting to work with athletes and helping them achieve their fitness goals. Amanda is best known for being an inspirational figure in the New England running scene, and beyond, showing women that they too can dream big and achieve goals never thought possible, particularly after having children. Some of her biggest running achievements, have been in the 2 years after having her son, Riley - running a 2:41 Berlin Marathon (10 months postpartum), 2:42 Boston Marathon (16 months postpartum) and a 1:15 Houston Half Marathon (2 years PP).
Amanda is an adidas-sponsored athlete and an ambassador for companies she knows and trusts, such as Momentous, Fré Skincare and SOS Hydration. She is also a frequent contributor for Runner’s World, Women’s Running, Self and Women’s Health Magazines. Amanda has 8 years experience coaching hundreds of runners of all levels and abilities towards their biggest goals. A huge part of achieving PRs is overcoming mental barriers to success, which Amanda finds to be her strength as both a competitive athlete herself, and with her background in Psychology, Education and Social Work.
Amanda is currently accepting clients for Gold Tier 1:1 Coaching, Group Coaching and Consultations!

Liz began running as a teenager, but started out casually and just wanted to get out the door and have fun. In her senior year of college, she trained for and completed her first half marathon, then went on to run her first marathon two years later. Since then she’s completed 12 marathons including a personal best of 2:57. As her passion for running grew, so did her passion for helping others achieve their dreams. Liz became a RRCA Level-1 Certified Run Coach and joined team Wellness in Motion in 2021. She’s helped dozens of runners, from those who just want that little extra push to get out the door to those looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon and beyond.
Liz lives in Philadelphia where she works as a teen dating violence prevention educator at a domestic violence advocacy agency and trains and competes with the Philadelphia Runner Track Club. She’s also coached extensively at the high school level through Students Run Philly Style, a nonprofit organization that pairs public school students with adult mentors with the goal of completing a half or full marathon. As a coach, Liz loves getting to know her runners personally and really understanding their goals and motivations to help them nurture a life-long love of the sport as they grow stronger, faster, and more confident.

Like Amanda, I believe everyone is a runner. While I played team sports during my entire childhood and teenage years, I only found running as an adult. I trained for my first half marathon the year after I graduated from college, and haven’t looked back!
Over the years, my love for running has grown. I found a running community in Boston in the Heartbreakers, befriending many other runners that supported my goals and understood the challenges along the way. Becoming a member of the Heartbreakers, consistent mental and physical training, and Amanda’s stellar guidance as a coach from 2018 on, led me to many PRs. In 2019, I PRed in every distance and pushed myself to new limits. Most notably, I ran a 3:26 marathon in April 2019 to finally qualify for the Boston Marathon — a long-time goal of mine — and ran a 1:32 half 5 months later.
As my coach, Amanda helped me unlock new potential, and I achieved so many goals that felt out of reach. Reflecting on this experience made me realize that I share the same passion. For this reason, I became a RRCA-certified coach. As your coach, I want you to fully enjoy the process: the good runs, the bad runs, the runs where you felt like you could continue forever.
I am currently co-leading a Group Marathon Training Program for Sub-4:00 with Coach Violet and training athletes 1:1 for 5K through Marathon distances!

Megan is an elite runner and physical therapist in Denver, CO. She is a 2020 US Olympic Trials marathon qualifier, and is still training and racing toward new goals. She graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and works full time as an outpatient physical therapist.
Megan has always been an endurance athlete, and competed in cross-country, track and nordic skiing in high school and college. She raced at the NCAA DIII level for the College of St. Benedict in the 5k, steeplechase, and cross country 6k, achieving all-conference (steeple) and all-region (nordic skiing) awards.
After moving to Colorado for grad school, her post-collegiate career took off and she quietly chased a lofty goal: the Olympic Trials. In the process she endured the lows of injury and triumphs of PR’s, but most importantly, she learned the power of mental strength, positivity, and patience in training and racing. She is self-coached, relying on her extensive knowledge of physiology, years of experience, and self-discipline to achieve new goals.
Her philosophy is to always pursue progress, no matter what form it may be in.
When she’s not running, Megan is hiking, camping, skiing, climbing 14ers, or traveling--either way she’s on the move and finding new challenges.
Current bests:
Marathon 2:44,
Half marathon: 1:16:59
10 mile: 58:22

Wilson is a trail/ultra runner and physical therapist who is passionate about running and living an active lifestyle. A Chicagoland area native, Wilson grew up experimenting in a variety of athletics; however, it wasn't until after his collegiate football career that Wilson signed up for his first marathon. Originally done as a way to stay active, he found he was immediately hooked on the sport. In 2019, Wilson moved to Boston to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Northeastern University. While here, he discovered a passion for trail running. Wilson has since complete two 100 mile races, and numerous 50 mile and 50 kilometer races. Though he enjoys racing, Wilson is most passionate about maintaining consistency with training and enjoys self-supported adventures in the mountains.
Wilson began working with Wellness in Motion this year as a physical therapist. He has a passion for working with runners of all experience levels to achieve their personal goals in this sport. As both a PT and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Wilson enjoys working with runners to develop rehabilitative and preventative strength routines by designing a well balanced training program with emphasis on recovery. Overall, he is passionate about helping people achieve growth, joy, and longevity in running!”
MY Team
I work closely with practitioners at Wellness in Motion Boston, a multidisciplinary clinic founded by my husband, Dr. Ian Nurse, with one focus: helping their patients return to the activities that help them live a full and healthy life. As my client, you’ll have access to our team of talented healthcare providers including:
DR. IAN NURSE
Sports Chiropractor
Dr. Ian Nurse founded Wellness in Motion Boston with a strong background in the conservative care of soft tissue (muscle, tendon, ligament, fascia and nerve) injuries. Focusing on the critical relationship between human locomotion and the soft tissues that drive movement, Dr. Nurse addresses an injury by finding the root of the problem and not just treating the symptoms. As every injury has its own chronology and pattern, Dr. Nurse utilizes a patient’s history, as well as a thorough biomechanical and soft tissue assessment to formulate an appropriate treatment plan. Dr. Nurse is a fully certified Active Release Techniques provider with experience focused on the spine, lower extremity and upper extremity. He is also a certified provider of Graston Technique.
Guidance and ease of appointment scheduling with Dr. Nurse and other practitioners through Coach Amanda.

Testimonials
Not only did Amanda help me to achieve my goal of running a marathon; she helped me to run a marathon under my original goal of 5 hours. I am happy to be able to call myself a marathoner and knowing that I could have completed my first race in a quicker time just makes me hungry for my next marathon!
— Kaitlin W.
Amanda’s workouts are fun, varied, and purposefully designed with pacing that encourages me to stretch myself. I’ve notched new PRs at every distance while staying healthy and integrating cross-training, strength, flexibility, and nutrition into my program, under Amanda’s guidance. Her personal approach makes me feel like I’m part of a team, even though nearly all of my running happens alone. I can’t imagine doing this any other way!
— Daniel K.
Over the past three years, Amanda has guided and supported me toward this crazy dream of mine: qualifying for the Boston Marathon. She does an awesome job customizing my training programs to fit my schedule, fitness level, and unexpected injuries. And thanks to her, my #1 dream of getting a BQ and running the Boston Marathon has finally come true!
— Tiffany P.
The training I got from Amanda is singlehandedly why I was able to successfully complete my first marathon (the 2018 Boston Marathon, in the pouring rain nonetheless!). From detailed and timely weekly plans, in-person runs, phone calls and check-ins to general support and friendship, she truly went above and beyond the asks of a "run coach."
— Cassie S.
I was initially looking to improve on my half marathon time. With Amanda’s help, I had an 11-minute PR in that half marathon! The fact that Amanda took the time to get to know me and my crazy work schedule is why I was able to achieve such a feat.
— Jill S.
